Here are answers to some common questions. 

  • What is Harmony?

    Harmony is a non-profit providing lessons in the arts to our community. Those under 18 get to learn how to play various instruments for free, as well as various mediums of art. All we ask in exchange is to give back to the community by volunteering their time.

  • What is P.I.F?

    P.I.F stands for Pay-It-Forward. Through this method – every student is required to give one hour of community service for each hour of lesson received. Harmony is strictly dependent on volunteers to run our facilities. There are numerous volunteer opportunities to sign up for here. 

  • How much does it cost?

    There is no financial cost – all we ask is for your time! We do appreciate donations to give us the means to keep the door open.

  • What type of lessons are there?

    We currently offer lessons in guitar, ukulele, keyboards, choir lessons. 


    With more volunteer support, we are hoping to offer lessons in many other instruments in the future.

  • Do students perform?

    Once our students have reached an adequate level of instruction we give them the opportunity to perform at various concerts. Be it at local concerts or even competitions, these appearances give our students a goal, motivation and target to reach.

  • How old do you have to be?

    The age for our lessons are for youth ages 12 - 18

  • How do I register?

    Please fill out this registration form. We ask that you call ahead to let our teachers know that your child will be joining the class. You are also welcome to drop by the centre and take a look and register in person.

  • How is Harmony funded?

    We are funded by donations and grants. There is no government funding for these programs. If you would like to give to Harmony please click here.

  • How do I make a donation?

    Yay! Thank you for your support! Click here. We also accept cash or cheque donations for your convenience dropped off at the centre. We will provide a tax-deductible receipt.

  • How can I volunteer?

    Please complete our registration form. We will require a police check when you are working with the children. Various positions are available. If you have specific skill set that you would like to help, please contact us today! We would love to hear from you!

  • What can I do to help?

    Volunteers are necessary to help keep Harmony organized and capable. Please go to our Career page to sign up.

  • Can adults join Harmony?

    Adults are more than welcome to join Harmony as a volunteer. In terms of lessons, we do not have enough teachers to be able to accommodate. Due to a high volume of inquiries, we are looking to add adult lessons to our programming. So please stay in touch!
